Editor’s Note: This week marks the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. The below article originally appeared on Excelsior Life on November 9, 2012.

It may be cliché, but Excelsior proved today we can all make a difference.

Donations poured in today as Excelsior College staff and faculty illustrated their community spirit by contributing a truckload of donations to help Hurricane Sandy victim relief efforts in Long Beach, New York. Collections included blankets, clothes, toys, baby items, batteries, cleaning supplies, diapers, toiletries and more.

More than $300 in gift cards were also donated by Excelsior Staff and over $1,000 collected in monetary contributions.
